My Writerly Things
Stories of Opportunity
As the lead writer for VGM Group, Inc., I set the content strategy and craft the majority of the stories for our year-end report. It's a way to help VGM Group celebrate its success over the last year and recognize the people who play a part in it.
It's a resource that's used throughout the year, serving as a content pillar and a way to showcase the company culture to job candidates.
Real-Life Claims Case Studies
VGM Insurance was looking for an entertaining way to educate their clients about ways to avoid claims they commonly see. I helped develop a series (still running today) featuring flash-fiction style narratives to give clients a firsthand look at a claim. In 2021, these took home an Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) Best of Show Award for a blog series. You can read all the studies at: vgminsurance.com/blog/category/claims-case-studies.
Mixology Masterclass Mixer
Insurance Marketing & Communications Association (IMCA) had to go virtual for their 2021 conference, but they still wanted to have an engaging networking event. Enter: a custom classic cocktail. I developed a cocktail, and we sent attendees a recipe card ahead of the event. Then, we put together a video to walk through the steps before jumping on a video conference to discuss. It was so popular, the client re-used the assets for another event. Be sure to check out the video below.
The Play-By-Play For Providers
Each quarter, VGM & Associates releases a playbook for its members (primarily providers of home medical equipment). It's a resource full of informative articles to help their businesses stay competitive. The client collects most of the articles, but they let my team and me take it from there. I organize, edit, identify pull quotes and graphics, and help keep the project moving. All told, it takes about a week of my time each quarter. But the members love it, and it's one of the highest priority assets for this client.
You can check out one of the articles on the client's blog at: vgm.com/communities/help-wanted-combating-employee-shortages. And if you really want to read the whole thing, let me know. I can scrounge up a copy for you.
Getting Social
One of the best things about Moxie, a full-service marketing agency, is its people. So, to help get to know the people in the know, we created a Meet the Moxers series to run on as part of the social strategy.

You're Invited
A client holds an educational conference in an often-exotic location each year for their executive-level customers. That means, each year, we put together a little something something to announce the conference and entice them to attend. In 2021, the conference was held on Marco Island in Florida. I worked with the design team to develop the campaign, creating a mascot named Marco the Manatee. And we even got to play a game of Marco Polo within the invitation package.
